Things You Should Know Before Your First Eyelash Extensions
Eyelash extensions are becoming an increasingly popular trend and are making their way through the fashion world. If you're still a newbie, here's everything you need to know before your appointment.

Many women don’t want to apply false lashes every day. After all, applying mascara and curling our lashes can cost us some time. So, it's no shock that eyelash extensions are becoming an increasingly popular trend and are making their way through the fashion world. If you're still a newbie, here's everything you need to know before your appointment.

What are lash extensions?

Eyelash extensions are the process by which we apply synthetic eyelashes to a person's natural eyelashes, making them look longer and sweeter. There are several main ways to lengthen a person's eyelashes. In recent years, there have been tremendous improvements in the techniques and materials used. Today, most lash salons and artists use the classic technique (applying one synthetic lash to one natural lash) and the curl extension technique (applying multiple strands of synthetic lashes to one natural lash).

Do they hurt? How long does the whole process take?

They will not damage your natural eyelashes. The key to proper eyelash extensions is the method of application. If a lash artist applies eyelash extensions the right way, they will not break or pull out your natural lashes. You will also feel comfortable when the artist does it correctly.

Your first session will typically last 90-120 minutes. Your eyes will remain closed during your eyelash extension appointment.

Do your research

There are tons of lash salons in every major city, and you need to take the time to find one that applies the extensions correctly and gets rave reviews. This is important because they will determine how your final lash extensions will look!

How to do eyelash extensions for people with sensitive skin?

If you are a person with sensitive skin, you need to inform your lash artist in advance. Also, some people are sensitive to eye wear, while others are sensitive to tape and still others are sensitive to lash glue. A lash artist will be more careful during the process and help you avoid products that can cause sensitivity. Generally, it is rare for someone to have a very sensitive condition that prevents them from having their lash extensions.

Will your natural eyelashes grow back after the extensions?

This remains relevant to your lash artist. As long as they do it gently and correctly, your natural lashes should not be lost. Also, your eyelash artist should be able to guide you in choosing the correct thickness and length of your extensions in order to maintain the health of your natural lashes.

How long do they last and how much do you have to pay for the whole process?

They usually last around 5 to 7 weeks and we suggest a fill every 2 to 3 weeks. Eyelash extensions cost $100 to $200, and an experienced lash artist can help guests find the best curvature as well as volume, so the fee is a bit more expensive. All in all, the cost depends on the design as well as the material of the lashes.

Tips to help eyelash extensions last longer

1. First you need to keep your lashes away from water for 24 hours, which ensures the lash glue used is completely dry as they are very sensitive to water.

2. You may use eye makeup. To remove makeup, use a water-based makeup remover and a cotton swab to clean the area near the lash line. Please do not apply mascara, as they are difficult to remove and may cause eye irritation if left on the lashes without cleaning.

3. Clean your lashes with a lash cleanser to prevent bacteria buildup.

4. Please try not to touch and rub your eyes. You should also brush at home several times a week with the curling brush your lash artist sent you.
