How to Wash Your Face with Eyelash Extensions?

October 07, 2021 Eyelashes Views: 528

After doing lash extensions, proper and gentle care is very important for this can help your lashes to stay in good condition and last longer.

We all know that water can break down the lash extension glue and makes lashes fall out faster, so washing the face properly with eyelash extensions should be at the top of the list of care. (However, always keep in mind that NEVER get your lashes wet for six hours after the application).

Obviously, we cannot wash our face in the normal way when we have eyelash extensions, so how do we cleanse our face without getting our eyelashes wet?

First Cleanse

The first cleanse removes make-up, sunscreen, environmental pollutants, dirt, sweat, and oil.

Step 1 Before washing your face, remove any make-up, dirt, and oil on your face with an oil-free make-up remover.

Step 2 Gently dip a cotton swab into the oil-free make-up remover and clean the entire eye area, but avoid the eyelash extensions.

Second Cleanse

The second cleanse is to clean your skin.

Step 1 Wash the lower half of your face starting from the cheekbones first. Otherwise, the water from your forehead will be dripping down onto your eyelash extensions if you start washing the upper part of your face.

Step 2 Work a gel-based foaming cleanser up into the foam (we do not recommend a cream-based cleanser because they are specifically designed for people who have dry skin so they leave a lot of emollients behind on the skin), and carefully apply the foam above your brow line and around your temples, and then wash your forehead with the foam cleanser.

Step 3 Always use a round facial sponge instead of splashing water all over your face which will have the water, the cleanser, and the dirt and oil stream down onto your eyelash extensions. Get the round facial sponge wet, squeeze any excess water, and sponge off the area of your brow line. Repeat the same procedure until your forehead is clean.

Step 4 The final step is to wipe the upper eyelid all the way down to the upper lash line with a round facial sponge. Repeat the same procedure on the lower lash line until there is no residue.

TIPS:

Please use an eye gel if you are using an under-eye product after cleansing. Eye gels are typically water-based and eye creams contain emollients that can break down the glue when used too close to the lash line.

If your lash extensions get wet by accident when you wash your face, the first thing you need to do is to gently dry off the moist to prevent the eyelash extensions from sticking together using an eyelash extension brush, and then dry them up with a mini fan.
