False Lashes - A Way to Have the Glamour of Thicker Eyebrows

June 07, 2022 Eyelashes Views: 1161

False lashes, also called "strips", are an instant and dramatic way to enhance your eyes. These false eyelashes provide fullness and length to create a more glamorous look. False lashes typically have a lightweight band to adhere the lash strip across your lash line for a natural look and easy to apply.

What are false lashes?

False lashes are a type of eyelash typically used as an accessory to your natural eyelashes. They come in different shapes and sizes, but the most common types are individual lashes (sometimes called "falsies," which look like short, thin eyelashes) and strip lashes (which look like long eyelashes).

What are the types of false lashes you have?

We carry three main types of false lashes here at the lash salon:

  •         Individual lashes: These are the ones that look like single eyelashes. Their size and shape are the same as your own. These are very easy to apply because you can only see a little bit of them, and they appear natural because they're right on top of your eyelashes.
  •         Strip lashes: These are lashes that look like long eyelashes, and they come in different lengths (1-3 pairs depending on the length) to cover larger areas at once, making them quicker to apply than individual lashes.
  •        Mini lashes: These are shorter than strip lashes, but they are not suitable for regular use as they are too long and thick and look a bit stunning.

How to tell if the lashes are real or not

To tell if your false eyelashes are real or fake, you can use this simple test:

  •         For fake lashes, they will always be synthetic nylon fibers. They will also be different from your eyelashes in texture.
  •         For real lashes, individual eyelashes have been threaded through a series of tiny plastic tubes (usually clear in color) to form a false lash. Most people never seem to be able to tell if the lashes are real or fake.
  •         It is important to wear the correct size for your natural eyelashes and any special tips for your specific needs

What makes false lashes better than my eyelashes?

As with anything you decide to wear, false lashes can be applied to look as natural on you as your lashes. Also, because these eyelashes are not growing out of your eye (as with real lashes), they will not create this awkward feeling of having a foreign object in your eyes. In other words, you do not have to worry about your false eyelashes falling out of your eyes and irritating your eyelids or, worse, falling into your eye and causing an infection. One tip is that if you are using any products that end in "-xane," phthalates (as with the newer lash glues) can irritate the sensitive skin on your eyelids.

Which is better to use, false eyelashes or mascara

Our personal choice is that false lashes are better than mascara for daytime looks because the false lashes are easier to apply, and you can use a smaller amount of product. However, when wearing false lashes at night, you may want to use more mascara for a more dramatic look. Suppose you are using both mascara and false lashes. We recommend using the mascara first and then the eyelashes after because using them simultaneously may cause your eyelashes to stick together.

How long do they last?

The lifespan of your false eyelashes depends on a few things:

  •         How well you care for them. If you use the appropriate glue and remove your false eyelashes at night, they can last for weeks.
  •         How much do you use them if you wear your lashes constantly, the glue may not last as long as it would if they were only worn for special occasions.
  •         Type of glue used to apply them

What is the difference between individual and strip lashes?

Individual lashes have an individual shape as well as an individual length. Individual lashes can be replaced if they fall out or be trimmed to fit your eye shape. Individual lashes also come in different lengths, ranging from 0.5 to 6mm.

Strip lashes are similar to individual lashes. The only difference is that they are stretchy (some are even elastic). If you have very thin eyelashes, they will be similar in length and shape to your eyelashes. At the same time, if you have thicker Applying false eyelashes takes practice to make sure that they last all day.

What do I do if they fall off during the day?

They fall because they are not glued correctly or too long. When you have the lashes put on, your lash stylist should put glue near the root of your eyelashes, so there is a bit of glue at the end and between each false lash. If you fall asleep with them on and one falls off, you might want to trim it shorter next time.

Who should not use false lashes?

Certain people should not use false lashes:

  •         People with sensitive eye skin should not use false lashes.
  •         Anyone who has never had false eyelashes before should probably wait until they have added a few to their skill set of applying them.
  •         People with fine, thin eyelashes should not use false lashes if they want to achieve the look of false eyelashes on the fullest part of their eyelashes.
  •         People with a skin condition that causes bumps or redness around the eyelids should not use false lashes (remember to keep them away from your eyes).

Are false lashes noticeable?

As with most makeup products, the truth is that many people cannot tell if a person has artificial eyelashes or not. Many people cannot tell because you do not have to remove the product when it starts to come off (as with regular mascara).

Are they reusable?

Some people reuse false lashes because they can get them from their friends and then cut them down to fit the length of their eyelashes. However, this is not recommended as you do not want to glue the false lashes onto your lashes (thereby causing a shortening of the eyelashes). It is also not recommended that you reuse any product that contains phthalates.

Conclusion

The beauty of false eyelashes is that they can be worn in several different ways to suit your mood or occasion. They can be cut to fit the length of your eyelashes (and reused), or they can be tailored to be longer or thicker.
