3 Easy Ways to Soften the Lace on Your Wigs

April 06, 2022 Wigs Views: 2600

Lace front wigs are becoming more and more popular due to their most natural look. While lace laces give your wig a real look in appearance, however, there are some people who are not comfortable with them.

Some people may feel that the lace is a bit stiff and uncomfortable to the skin. In fact, this small problem is easy to solve, three simple ways to teach you to soften the lace on the wig so you no longer have to worry about it.

1. Wig tape

Put some wig tape on the wig.

As a double-sided, medical-grade adhesive tape, wig tape can be safer to use on the skin. And, it comes in different strengths and shapes, from strips to small dots, in rolls or in singles. You can simply apply some wig tape to the perimeter hairline area of these lace front wigs, thus firmly securing the wig to your head and avoiding scratches.

How to use wig tape to cover the lace?

Step 1. Clean the area where you want to place the tape, removing excess grease and dirt, especially from the skin near the hairline.

Step 2. Carefully apply the tape along the hairline, making sure the tape is relatively evenly distributed. Do not apply the tape to your natural hairline, as it will tear off your hair when you remove it.

Step 3. After removing the back of the tape and placing the wig in the correct area, firmly press the wig along the tape.

2. Baking soda

By soaking baking soda in a lace-trimmed wig about every three weeks, your hair will be bouncy, soft, and retain its shine, thus extending the life of your lace-trimmed wig to a greater or lesser extent.

Step 1. Prepare a clean container and fill it with warm water. Be sure not to put too much water in this process; otherwise, the tub will overflow when you put the HD lace wig into the container.

Step 2. Pour ½ to ¾ cup of baking soda into the container and stir the mixture until the baking soda is completely dissolved.

Step 3. Comb the human hair lace wig with a wide-tooth comb to remove any tangles or kinks and place the lace wig human hair into the mixture, making sure it is completely submerged in the solution at the same time.

Step 4. Place a lid on the container, making sure that pets and children cannot enter, and allow the HD Lace Wig Human Hair to soak for at least four hours. If possible and time permits, soak the lace wig overnight.

Step 5. When a soaking time is complete, remove the wig and rinse as thoroughly as possible under running water.

Step 6. Once you are certain that there is no residue left in the wig, rinse it carefully again with clarifying shampoo.

Step 7. Next, rinse again, gently squeezing the wig with a towel to wring out any excess water.

Step 8. Let it air dry freely in a cool place.

3. Vinegar

If you don't have either of the above two things, then it's not a bad choice to go with vinegar.

Step 1. Prepare a clean container and fill it with warm water, being careful not to put too much water in the container.

Step 2. Pour the vinegar into the container.

Step 3. Comb the human hair wig with a wide-tooth comb to remove any tangles or kinks, and place the lace front wig human hair into the water, making sure it is completely submerged in the container at the same time.

Step 4. Apply some moisturizing shampoo to the wig and gently rub the wig to remove any excess oils. Or you can let it sit for 5 minutes. Next, rinse the shampoo from the wig under running water.

Step 5. You can then apply some conditioner to the hair for a few minutes and again rinse as thoroughly as possible with running water.

Step 6. Once you are sure there is no residue left in the wig, use a microfiber towel to soak up any excess water.

Step 7. Let it air dry freely in a cool place.

If you have this trouble, try the above methods. Of course, if you have a better trick, why not share it with us?
